How much will a wheelie bin cost?

Pricing will be dependent on size, location and waste type. We will quote as economically as possible for the type and amount of waste that you produce.

How do I decide what size I need?

We will help to determine the size required, call our experienced sales staff today.

How frequently will my wheelie bin be emptied?

We can empty bins 5 days a week, and on a weekly basis. Other arrangements are also possible to suit your needs.

I want to reduce waste and improve recycling, how do I go about it?

B & J Metals will give you recommendations on how to reduce and reuse waste, and recycle more. Smaller wheelie bins are available for specialist waste, ask for further details.

What happens to my waste after it is collected?

We have our own waste transfer facility at Shap Road Industrial Estate, Kendal. We aim to recycle more than 80% of the material tipped in our Waste Transfer Station. Only non-recyclable residue is taken to landfill.

Where can I put my wheelie bin?

Wheelie bins should not be on the public highway. On collection day the wheelie bin should be placed in an accessible agreed location for servicing.

How much notice do I need to give?

Once you have accepted your quote service can start within three working days.

Can I put anything in my wheelie bin?

No. B & J Wheelie bin collections are for commercial and agreed trade waste only. Legal restrictions apply for hazardous or construction waste and controlled Waste Transfer Notes required.

We can arrange separate recovery of most items on application, including the following restricted waste: asbestos, clinical/medical waste, hazardous or toxic materials, liquid waste, plasterboard, batteries, food, fluorescent tubes, paint, tyres, televisions, monitors, fridges, freezers, gas bottles.

I need a ‘one off collection’ can you help?

When will the bins be emptied?

Non-residential areas can be serviced from 5am unto 4.30pm on the service day for your area.

Residential areas can be serviced from 7am to 4.30pm on the allocated service day for your area.
Sites can be serviced 5 days a week, and on a weekly basis. Other arrangements are also possible to suit your needs.

I am under contract with another waste collection supplier, can you help?

Yes, we will help you with any paperwork necessary to terminate your agreement.
